Give, Serve, Care

Our community is more than the place we simply call home; it’s where we are able to reflect Jesus’ love. That’s what this September campaign is all about.

Give

We want to be generous and support others in a practical way, so we're asking everyone who is able to donate £10 during September. These donations will be distributed to several non-profits doing incredible work in our community.

There are no strings attached. We’re not expecting anything in return; we simply want to bless those around us.

You can donate your £10 at the Giving Station in the EBC auditorium, or transfer the money online with the reference ‘#ForEmsworth’.

Learn more about the non-profits we’ll be supporting this year below.

Serve

In addition to our giving, we want to come together as a church family to serve our community. We’ll be joining in with various local events, which you can read about below, and we’d love for as many of you as possible to get involved.

Alongside this, we’re also encouraging any groups within the church - whether that’s Life Groups or other ministries - to arrange their own ways to serve the community. Find areas where you can make a difference, gather others, and serve together!

Beach Clean Up At Prinsted (07/09/24)

Join us for a litter pick hosted by the Final Straw Foundation at Prinsted Beach from 10.00am until 12.00pm. We’ll meet us opposite the Scout Hut, Prinsted Lane, PO10 8HS. Every bit of litter and rubbish we pick up makes a difference!

Gloves, litter pickers, bags and buckets will be provided, but if you have any of your own, please bring them too.

Work Party At Nore Barn Woods (14/09/24)

Hosted by Friends of Nore Barn Woods, this work party will help conserve and make the woods even more enjoyable for the general public. In particular, we’ll be working on the foreshore trench and repairing a damaged memorial bench.

Join us from 9.30am to 12.00pm at the shore end of Warblington Road. Just bring your gardening gloves!

I’d Like To Serve

Care

In addition to our collective serving, we encourage you to engage in individual acts of kindness. Swipe along and check out the prompts below for inspiration of how to support others — there are twenty for adults, and twenty for kids and youth.

#ForEmsworth stickers with a QR code explaining this campaign are available in the auditorium too. Please feel free to take some and attach them to any gifts or items as you care for others and demonstrate your faith.

Updates

During our Sunday Gatherings in September, we’d love to highlight the campaign’s progress and celebrate some of your ‘serve’ and ‘care’ acts.

Please share your experiences with us, and if possible, send some photos. We’ll feature your stories in our services to inspire others and emphasise our passion for the community.
