Eco Church
Eco Church is a scheme run by A Rocha UK equipping churches to care for God’s creation through their worship, buildings, land, community engagement, and individual lifestyles. Churches can be considered for an Eco Church Award at either Bronze, Silver, or Gold level. Emsworth Baptist Church has been awarded a Silver Eco Church award for its commitment to caring for God’s creation.
To be considered for an Eco Church Award, churches must demonstrate environmental engagement each of five key areas:
Worship and teaching.
Management of church buildings.
Management of church land.
Community and global engagement.
Lifestyle.

As part of our commitment to the Eco Church campaign, we actively encourage care for the environment through our church ministries. Our Girls’ Brigade group made bug hotels to entice insects to come and take up residence in our church garden. We have an area of wild flowers to encourage butterflies and bees. At the Emsworth Eco Day, our young people spent time learning about the importance of recycling and there were many stalls selling locally-made, environmentally-friendly products.
We are proud to be an Eco Church.
