Meet Our Team

Rares (Youth Leader)

My name is Rares, and I came here from Romania in 2020 with my wife, Loredana, planning to stay for two years before returning home to the families and to the mission of our God there. However, every year we say we'll stay for another two years – just like now – hoping that in two years’ time, we’ll finally return home.

In the meantime, we have experienced unimaginable blessings from God and have been surrounded by many absolutely wonderful people — true role models. We truly feel that this entire period has been, and still is, a time of refinement, where God is shaping and preparing us for the next stage of our walk with Him.

From 2020 to 2024, I worked as a delivery driver — a job I will always look back on with fondness. However, I now serve as a Youth Leader at Emsworth Baptist Church, and once again, I can see how a beautiful picture is taking shape — one that I will cherish in the years to come.

My hobbies are rather boring; my ideal day involves sinking into a cosy armchair, reading by the fire with a cup of tea that never gets cold — probably until I fall asleep. What a pensioner’s hobby, ha? On the other hand, I enjoy doing almost anything, even just going for a walk, as long as it involves social interaction. I love people, I want to get to know them, and I strive to see them through the eyes of Jesus.
